We're seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team led by Dr. Erich C. Schmidt, D.M.D., a highly respected periodontist renowned for his expertise in patient care and innovative treatments. Based in our state-of-the-art practice in Pittsfield, MA, you'll be part of a team committed to delivering exceptional dental care. The ideal candidate will be patient-centric, driven, and a true brand ambassador for our practice. With experience in dentistry and a passion for continuous growth, you'll play a pivotal role in preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials while ensuring compliance with all procedures and protocols.

Location:
- Western Mass Periodontics
- 435 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday: 9am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing a safe, comforting, and welcoming exam room atmosphere
- Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area, position and pass instruments and materials, suction, and expose/develop radiographic studies
- Pour, trim, and polish study casts and removable appliances
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and calling for repairs
- Capture and interpret x-rays
- Track inventory levels, anticipate needed supplies, and verify receipt of supplies
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Diploma or certificate from an approved Dental Assistant program as accredited by CODA (preferred)
- Current NY DA license, or DANB CDA in NY, ICE & RHS Certifications (preferred)
- CPR Certification
- Minimum 1 year of dental office experience (required)
- Previous dental assistance experience (preferred)
- Denticon dental software knowledge (a plus)
