Compensation:$21 - $30 hourly
Responsibilities:- Adhere to all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
- Welcome patient and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during their appointment
- Prepare and layout sterilized equipment, dental instruments, anesthetics, dental supplies, and materials inside treatment rooms for examinations and dental procedures
- Chairside assist
- Obtain, update, review, and enter patient medical histories in the electronic health record
- Take patient X-rays and preliminary impressions
- Prepare patients for visits, arrange instruments, and prepare dental materials for treatment/procedure
- Perform four-handed dentistry
- Prepare and clean operatories
- Sterilize instruments
- Perform expanded functions as directed and required for patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team
- Demonstrate ability to provide care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect the developmental level of the population being served
- Other duties as assigned
- Previous dental assisting experience as a registered dental assistant or certified dental assistant (3 years) is necessary
- An Associate’s Degree or a certification from a college or technical school training program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation is required
- Must possess a current state license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
- Proficiency with computers, and experience updating patient histories, and with dental software is necessary
- Experience with dental software, updating patient histories, and computer skills are needed
- Current Licensed Dental Assistant (LDA) in the State of MN or soon-to-be-licensed
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are preferred
