Job Type Full-timeDescriptionSummary: Under general supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Assistant works as a team member to ensure safe, high quality care. Prepares each operatory and patient for treatment. Takes and prepares radiographs using conventional and digital technology. Assists the patient, clears the work site and prepares for the next patient.Measurement: Ongoing feedback from Dentist. Patient Satisfaction Survey.#2 - Patient Relations and Care - Communicates to patient the aspects of their dental visit and provides support and compassion as needed. Review health history and obtain vital signs. Documentation in dental record per ACO requirements and according to protocol.Measurement: Patient satisfaction survey results >90%. Accurate data entry.#3 - Safety - Maintains and properly performs, monitors and records all sterilization of instruments and equipment for dental office and operatory. Helps manage the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA, CDC and ADA Standards.Measurement: #4 - Preparation and clean up - Drapes patient with protective linens and sets up instrument tray containing required supplies. Prepares dental materials-cements-amalgams, composites, impression materials, etc.Measurement:#5 - Scheduling follow up appointments for ongoing dental treatmentMeasurement: #6 - Additional duties as assigned by Practice ManagerNot necessary. We will train the right candidate. Special Requirements: Education, Training or Certifications Required: High school diplomaCPR Certification and/or preferredCertification in Dental Assisting is not necessary. We will train the right candidate with a high school diploma. Experience Required: Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.Strong organizational skillsAble to handle numerous tasks at the same time and prioritize them. FlexibleExcellent time management skillsProficient with computersCapable of working as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment Cognitive Requirements: Physical Demands: Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.Moderate physical activity. Requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds, assisting with patients and standing and/or walking for most of the day. Environment: Will work with blood or blood borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment.
