Pillar Biosciences aims to "make NGS Testing more accessible to local laboratories, clinicians and patients through rapid, affordable, kitted testing solutions" by developing and manufacturing targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based assays and software for today’s low-mid-throughput clinical NGS laboratories. We are seeking collaborative and independent problem solvers to support our mission.
We are seeking an energetic, responsible candidate to support Pillar’s growth by joining our product management and marketing team to oversee a growing product portfolio. The Scientific Product Manager will manage Pillar’s global product portfolio, lead strategic development of future initiatives, and be the interface between R&D and the commercial operation. The Product Manager will provide significant input into product-related business decisions and resource planning along with playing a critical role in key initiatives, often leading project teams.
Note: Depending on experience, successful candidate to be hired at either the Manager or Senior Manager level.
Duties and responsibilities
Serve as cross-functional conduit between R&D, Commercial, Software, Bioinformatics, and Regulatory as a point-of-contact for Pillar product portfolio. Stay abreast of clinical guidelines and represent Voice of the Customer (VOC) to identify and communicate internally relevant design goals for future products including both IVDs and RUOs. Communicate with KOLs, clinical collaborators, and potential future customers to identify areas of commercial opportunity. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate implementation of approved content. Communicate project status to internal stakeholders through various formal and informal mechanisms. Assist in driving data strategy and findings in support of corporate strategies and developmental goals. Serve as integral team member that influences publication strategies, providing data, results and necessary accurate content. Work effectively across multidisciplinary groups to provide prompt, accurate and comprehensive responses to complex medical/scientific inquiries of our customers. Identify internal education gaps with respect to new and existing oncology products, and facilitate closing those gaps. Development of educational presentations and training collateral aligned to data outcome corporate strategy and goals. Drive and assist opportunities and partnerships in order to identify and convert target customers within market segment. Use market insight with input from customers within the region to provide in-depth market analysis and to identify key business opportunities. Assist in coordinating the planning and execution of product launches. Help execute or coordinate local events such as conferences and tradeshows, seminars, user meetings and product launch events within market segment. Education & Qualifications
Bachelor or Master Degree in Molecular Biology or related life science. Ph.D is a plus. Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrable success in Commercial/Marketing role at a Molecular Clinical Diagnostics Manufacturer. Next Gen Sequencing experience preferred. Understanding of clinical oncology, pathology, genomics, molecular biology, and sequencing applications is essential. Consummate team player who is collaborative working across levels and functions (including, but not limited to Commercial teams, R&D, Software, Bioinformatics, and Regulatory) in the organization to drive delivery of strategic decisions and priorities. Must be detail-oriented, well organized and have the ability to meet strict deadlines and perform under pressure in a fast-paced work environment – works with a sense of urgency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Demonstrated success managing complex products/projects with minimal oversight. Ability to distill complex technical data into actionable messages for commercial organization. Conscientious and flexible, with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint. Enjoys working in an office environment and cross-functionally with other team members. Work to be conducted in a standard office environment. The role routinely requires the use of typical office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Must be able to sit at and use a computer for extended periods of time.
