Job Summary The Director of Strategic Sourcing & Outsourcing will be a key member of Prototek’s Leadership responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services across multiple business units and locations, as well as helping grow revenue and EBITDA through strategic outsourcing. This position is critical to achieving the company’s top line and bottom-line growth targets. The Director will lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives, expand and manage outsourcing contracts, and ensure alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
Essential Functions Strategic Sourcing and Outsourcing:
Owns the P&L for the Outsourcing Business Drives growth of the Outsourcing business across the Prototek enterprise Develops and implements a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company's business goals. Lead cross-functional teams in the identification, evaluation, and selection of categories and suppliers for corporate contracts for direct and indirect materials, and services. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure optimal value for the company. Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain competitive advantage. Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Conduct regular performance reviews and audits to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions. Resolve any disputes or issues that may arise with suppliers in a timely and effective manner. Outsourcing Management:
Work directly with business units and commercial sales team to identify opportunities to grow Prototek’s business by contracting with suppliers that provide additional capabilities enabling the company to better serve the full range of customer requirements Achieves revenue and profit targets for the Outsourcing business Establishes formal qualification requirements for outsourcing vendors and develops an audit process consistent with industry standards for maintaining supplier quality Oversee the management of outsourcing contracts, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Work closely with business units to understand their outsourcing needs and ensure alignment with overall business objectives. Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with outsourcing activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with various business units and functions to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with the overall procurement strategy. Work with finance, legal, and other relevant departments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Cost Management and Efficiency:
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives. Track and report on procurement performance metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and contract compliance. Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team across company locations. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the procurement function. Evaluate department KPIs and implement process efficiencies Oversee department budgets and expenditures; provide solutions to reduce production costs Collaborate with quality team to implement and maintain company SOP’s and best practices; audit manufacturing activities to ensure adherence to policies and procedures Research and evaluate new equipment and technology and makes recommendations for facility enhancements Lead and/or delegate process improvement projects related to productivity, quality, ergonomics, safety, and cost control in conjunction with the Quality Management system Assist with recruitment and selection process of new hires Review and approve timecard records for department personnel Manage key personnel; provide coaching, evaluate performance, and provide corrective action as needed Assist in the development of and enforce all company policy, including production, quality, safety, and human resources Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational trainings and participating in industry events Other duties as assigned Technical Competencies

Show willingness to be a change agent and lead continual change initiatives. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CPM, CPSM) is preferred. 10+ years’ relevant management experience in prototyping or manufacturing industry required. 10+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. P&L experience preferred. Experience in ISO9001 or AS9100 quality systems preferred. Work Hours/Travel:
