ABOUT NFTE

Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) ignites the entrepreneurial mindset with unique learning experiences that empower students to own their futures. A global nonprofit founded in 1987, NFTE provides high-quality entrepreneurship education to middle school, high school, and postsecondary students. NFTE provides students with opportunities to build skills, confidence, and know-how to recognize opportunities, discover their passions, develop their talents, and grow their networks. Young people who complete NFTE's entrepreneurship programs are more likely to engage in learning, achieve their educational and career goals, launch businesses, have increased lifetime earnings, and feel greater job satisfaction. NFTE brings the power of entrepreneurship to students, regardless of family income, community resources, special needs, gender identity, race, or ethnicity. NFTE has educated more than a million students, delivering our programs in school, out of school, in-person, online, or through hybrid models.

The future of work is a topic that engages educators, economists, policymakers, and business leaders, and experts continue to predict profound disruptions to the labor market over the next several decades. NFTE knows that entrepreneurship education changes lives and believes it is the best way to prepare young people for the future, which is why the organization is working to scale its unique entrepreneurship programming and benefit more young people every year. Research shows that the entrepreneurial mindset skills including innovation, self-reliance, comfort with risk, communication, and problem-solving prepares young people for lifelong success. Equipped with the mindset, as well as the business and academic skills, NFTE students are ready to thrive in the innovation economy no matter what path they choose.

In the current school year, NFTE programs across the U.S. serve nearly 58,000 students in under-resourced communities across the U.S. Our programs are supported by dedicated, talented educators who comprise NFTE's Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher Corps. Additionally, through partnerships in 31 countries around the world, NFTE is reaching an additional nearly 12,000 young people this program year.

Throughout its seven U.S. regional offices, the organization has a talented and mission-centric team of roughly 60. NFTE is supported by many generous and committed corporate, foundation, and individual donors, dedicated board members and volunteers, schools, districts, community-based organizations, and other industry and field leaders. NFTE is strategically also growing and diversifying its revenue through contract services with districts, schools, and community organizations.
