Overview:
Woodstock Union High School & Middle School seeks an inspiring and visionary leader to serve as its next Principal for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The ideal candidate will be student-centered and compassionate and use visible, engaged leadership and transparent communication to create a culture of innovation and accountability. This leader will work collaboratively with students, faculty, and the community to promote a school culture where every student can thrive, and every educator feels supported.

Maintain open, transparent, and timely communication with all school stakeholders.
Listen actively to feedback from students, staff, parents, and the community to inform decisions.
Foster a collaborative culture by facilitating regular, two-way communication with the superintendent, staff, students, parents, and the broader community.

Lead with creativity and adaptability, bringing forward-thinking ideas to enhance the learning experience.
Support initiatives that align with MVSU's Portrait of a Graduate and Strategic Plan, including outdoor learning, technology integration, and personalized learning.
Inspire and implement innovative approaches to education that engage students and energize faculty.

Uphold and enforce school policies fairly and consistently, creating a structured, safe learning environment.
Support teachers by establishing clear expectations and providing resources to promote high academic standards.
Model integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior in all aspects of the role.
Additional Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
Serve as the instructional leader, emphasizing high expectations and continuous improvement.
Supervise and evaluate instructional practices, using data-driven decisions to enhance program outcomes.
School Improvement:
Lead efforts to create and sustain a shared vision for school improvement, using data and best practices.
Align professional development with district goals, fostering a supportive, goal-oriented environment.
Personnel Management:
Oversee hiring, orientation, and professional growth for campus staff, supporting career development and performance evaluations.
Administration & Budget Management:
Develop and manage campus budgets, ensuring responsible and effective use of resources.
Coordinate facility management to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting campus environment.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
Master’s degree or higher in Educational Administration or related field.
Valid VT Educator License with Principal endorsement.
Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience serving as a school Administrator.
Proficiency in curriculum development, instructional program evaluation, budget management, and policy interpretation.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license (may be required).
Criminal background clearance.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work extended hours, as needed, to support school functions and activities.
Occasional travel within the district and across the state.
Capability to maintain emotional control under stress in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.
