We envision, design, and prototype the next generation infrastructure, hardware, and applications for the Bloomberg Terminal. What's in it for you Bloomberg's metadata management platform is a state of the art service that provides features for creating, managing and governing metamodels and metadata as well as pipelines for metadata enrichment and distribution. The platform enables a wide range of use cases across Bloomberg's vast data ecosystem.

As a central platform, it ensures consistency and alignment of metadata across all lines of Bloomberg's business, producer platforms and consumer platforms, and internal and external client workflows. The metadata consistency allows for linking multiple silos of data across Bloomberg, enabling cross domain querying, advanced analytics in addition to a better search and discovery experience for our clients.

Bloomberg is looking for a Technical Product Manager to shape and execute the vision, and roadmap for the semantic metadata authoring and management platform. As a Technical Product Manager, you will have ownership over a suite of infrastructure, grow our platform, expand our user base, and build out new features and capabilities to fulfill our mission. You will interact very closely with our internal users including our data analysts and data modelers who will be using the platform for creating, authoring, and managing metadata. You will also be interacting with other product owners and engineers who will be both users and creators of specific types of metadata .You will be making decisions on how to streamline metadata creation, governance and release management. This platform will need to be leveraged by teams across Bloomberg and will need to provide a smooth user experience.. This is a high-leverage role in a very cross-functional environment, so you'll need to be comfortable wearing many hats and balancing technical expertise with business acumen. You will work in a group of other highly motivated product managers that work on a range of adjacent projects such as data science, machine learning and quant workflows.

We'll trust you to Develop a long-term vision and roadmap for Bloomberg's metadata authoring and management platform infrastructure and features and understand how metadata can be leveraged to drive user growth, engagement and revenue. Translate product roadmap features and requirements into well-crafted, testable user stories and acceptance test criteria, set priorities and define the scope whilst effectively managing resources. Interact with end users and a diverse group of partners to understand their workflows and technical requirements and their needs for creating, managing and accessing metadata. Work closely with the Engineering and Data teams as well as other product owners and develop an understanding of the capabilities, constraints and opportunities , anticipate scale challenges, map business requirements to technical vision, and increase the service capabilities to better support internal and external partners. Assess impact of changes to metadata across firm wide goals and strategize accordingly . Play an active role in knowledge transfer around semantic metadata across the firm. Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks

You'll need to have 5+ years of experience in a product management role Breadth of knowledge and familiarity with metadata, enterprise data modeling and industry best practices Experience in designing metadata platforms Proficiency in Semantic technologies and semantic data modeling including OWL, RDF/S, SPARQL, SHACL, Ontology design and knowledge graphs A strong technical or Engineering background and broad technical fluency A track record of shaping business strategy and roadmaps for technical products and providing reliable, scalable, and easy-to-use infrastructure A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability Experience with one or more agile project management tools

We'd love to see A good understanding of financial markets , instruments and products Open source involvement or community presence Exposure to Bloomberg Terminal and/or enterprise data products Experience with collaborative design platforms, such as MIRO and FIGMA. Salary Range: 140,000 - 295,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
