Bilingual Dental Assistant Floater
Our client is a network of clinics in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire providing medical, dental, mental health, and substance use services is looking for a Contract Bilingual Dental Assistant Floater offering $24.55 per hour to support their 20 locations in the Los Angeles area.
Schedule may vary, must be able to travel clinic to clinic as requested by Clinic Operations or Clinic Manager. You will work 5 days per week. Clinic Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Either an 8:30am-5:00pm or 11:00am-7:30pm
- Wednesday and Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
- Saturdays: Every Saturday, except when covering a clinic Monday thru Friday
Key Responsibilities:
The Bilingual Dental Assistant Floater performs a variety of patient care, supporting a licenced dentist with office and laboratory duties in dental offices. You will prepare patients for treatment, assure that dental records and instruments are ready for the dentist to use, serve as the dentist assistant at chair-side and keep patients comfortable and relaxed. You will also prepare and take X-rays, processes films, sterilize instruments and equipment, and instruct patients in post-treatment care.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to travel to different clinic locations which are located in a 20 mile radius around Los Angeles
- 2+ Years of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) Required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology (in both English and Spanish)
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and keep a positive and friendly attitude
- You enjoy working with a diverse population and providing excellent customer service
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Proficient Microsoft Office and Excel.
- High School or GED
- Completion of Dental Assisting Program
- OSHA Certification
- CPR certification
- Valid California Radiation Safety (X-Ray) certificate
- Proof of COVID-19 updated vaccination within the last 12 months
- MMR Vaccines (two vaccines/titers), Immunization Records, or Waiver
- TDAP within 10 years or Waiver
- Flu Shot within 1 year or Waiver
- Hepatitis B Series (three vaccines/titers) or Immunization Records
Preferred Qualification Skills
- EHR- Electronic Health Record experience
- PMS- Practice Management System experience
- Good organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by striving to keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending to their individual concerns. Being able to do so in Spanish as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, sterile and cheerful environment where patients feel comfortable, prepare them treatment, and assist the doctors – thereby enabling them to provide efficient, quality dental treatment.
- Obtain dental history and/or records from patient (review patient health history and care slips). Ensure that the health history is updated for all returning patients.
- Escort patients to/from the front desk and introduce them to the exit clerk.
- Prepare tray setups for dental procedures, and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, replenishing as needed.
- Complete x-rays for Adults and Pediatric patients as appropriate.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care. Being able to do so in Spanish as necessary.
- Prepare materials for making impressions and restorations.
- Maintain all logs required in compliance with prescribed audit tools.
- Maintain monthly check of Emergency medical kit, Oxygen tanks and oxygen masks (adult and children).
- Maintain adequate inventory of Dental supplies.
- Place orders for Dental supplies in accordance with purchase protocols.
- Demonstrates oral hygiene care procedure and techniques.
- Hand instruments and materials to dentists, and keep patients’ mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices.
- Record patient charting and all doctor notes on treatment record. Ensure the doctor signs treatment record consents and healthy history.
- Act in accordance with those set forth as per the applicable State’s Dental Auxiliaries.
- Clean each operatory in accordance with the American Dental Association guidelines.
- Maintains strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations, (e.g., OSHS, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices)
