The Head of Enterprise Data Platform and Services will be responsible for overseeing, transforming, and simplifying operations through a governed, structured and reliable data foundation across Takeda to enable our Data and Analytics Center of Excellence and AI solutions.
This leader will oversee a team to optimize operations, build new monetization capabilities, maximize performance across our DNA organization, and support leadership business decisions. The Enterprise Data Platform serves as Takeda’s single source of truth for analytics and leverages a mesh data model to enable analytics as the edge. This role will encompass the day-to-day management of platform architecture, design and leadership of the build/deploy team in an ICC model. In this role, you will be the Platform Owner supporting the CDO and business roadmap for analytics scalability and GenAI. The primary focus of this role is to lead the development and implementation of AI-powered data platform initiatives, while ensuring that the data is accurate, meaningful, and secure. The Head of Enterprise Data Platform and Services is
responsible for supporting the EDAS Data and AI/Analytics Team as PaaS that supports the global strategy as the single source of analytics and will report to the Head of Foundational platforms.
You will lead a team of talented data engineers and technology platform owners including coordination with offshore teams, to deliver innovative solutions and migrate users across Takeda onto the Lake house environment. Develop actionable plans to achieve the strategic objectives ensuring alignment with Platform economy leader and the CDO.
Formulate effective strategies for data acquisition, storage, processing, and consumption.
Lead multiple data and software engineering teams, including resource leveling, mentoring and enhancing and maintaining best-of-class development across multiple teams in the ICC and Hub locations. Build partnerships with BU and technology leaders to establish a validated quarterly capacity/demand plant that enables the delivery of the product roadmaps and technology investments of ~48 technology solutions in an highly integrated data lakehouse platform. Maintain key performance metrics tracking the efficacy of software delivery and platform reliability. Perform on-going maintenance schedules and cleansing of data warehouses and access data movement processes (AWS, Informatica, Tidal, Globalscape, Kaftka) Enable the vision for a GenAI platform integration on AWS Bedrock. This includes the comprehensive integrated roadmap to support the CDO for AI platforms in AWS, multiple LLM environment. Work with Project Managers and Scrum managers to create stories and provide milestones. Automate the provision and management of infrastructure. Manage the Data Platform teams in delivery of full operational end-end dev-ops and ML/AI Ops excellence. Manage and enforce Git Standards. Develop and enforce IT standards, procedures, policies, access controls and ITIL. Help to define and build an industry leading ML ops tech stack. Influence and expert in Architecture Governance, including Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Architecture Innovation Committee (AIC) Use in-depth experience with architecture, design, data, and standards together with and clear view on Enterprise Leadership and Product Management to advise on multiple levels of complexity in Architecture. Support the recruiting, hiring and onboarding of both your direct team and ICC teams engineering and product and technical talent to realize the DnA vision. Mature the team to be accountable technical platform owners who can manage escalations, implementations, vendors and fiscal responsibility like a P&L. Partner with architects, business product owners, CDO organization and ICC to design the leading healthcare DnA platform. Guide the expansion of micro-services/api architecture routing millions of healthcare transactions to support digital and D&A strategy. Lead the delivery of enterprise knowledge graph platform demonstrating pioneering techniques in NLP, machine learning and other relevant AI technologies to provide innovative, scalable and high quality products and services. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of enterprise AI, visualization, and knowledge insights platforms and solutions that enable data-driven decision-making and empower employees across the organization to access, discover, and apply information more effectively. Deliver an architecture that is globally scalable, real-time, near real-time, scalable, agile and supportive of digital services through data and insights as a service via APIs. -Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Master's degree and related certifications desirable. 10+ years' relevant experience. Demonstrated technology and personal leadership experience in architecting, engineering, designing and building highly scalable analytical and reporting applications. Expertise in data management standard methodologies such as data ingestion, data integration, data security data warehousing, data analytics, metadata management and data quality. 4+ years' managerial experience and/or demonstrated leadership experience. Experience managing IT projects within a global environment. Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable. Background in solution architecture, with a focus on cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Engage with technical and non-technical partners. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing integrated roadmaps for cloud platforms. Must be a strong collaborator. Proven success navigating large corporate environments, leveraging matrixed resources, delivery services and platforms.
