Vice President, Mission Impact

to join our high-performing team.

Position Summary:

The VP serves as the executive within KINF responsible for the overall strategy and management of the Mission Impact team, including the operational execution of the four programmatic areas within KINF. This position plays a key role in advancing the mission of KINF by designing and implementing a comprehensive, data-driven strategy for the development, execution and evaluation of impact and outcomes-focused programs to support under-resourced teachers and students throughout the U.S. The VP also plays the role of programmatic brand champion for all who are supported by KINF, ensuring the highest level of experience and upholding the dignity of the teachers and students whom we serve. This is a full-time position based in the Roseville, MN headquarters.

Responsibilities:

National Programs

Collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders, both internally and externally, to identify and prioritize programs and services that align with KINF’s mission priorities.

Oversee the development and testing of mission initiatives, continually evaluating and enhancing program strategies and execution to drive mission impact and outcomes.

Ensure new and existing program strategies have well-defined objectives and achievable outcomes, creating program measurement tools, overseeing data collection and evaluating impact and outcomes.

Develop national evaluation strategies to determine reach, reliability, impact, and return on investment of new and existing initiatives.

Responsible for beneficiary selection and measurement requirements to ensure those supported through KINF’s programs are truly in need of the support, meet all vetting guidelines and use the resources provided in the manner intended.

Disseminate evaluation findings to internal stakeholders, community partners, potential donors, and the education community. Provide data-driven feedback to inform program optimization.

Collaborate with the Development team to facilitate donor development/partnerships, contribute to grant proposals, and solicit support from industry and school partners, as appropriate.

Collaborate with key stakeholders externally to develop and maintain collaborative research and innovative partnerships, to further the mission of KINF.

Strengthen KINF’s data and evaluation capabilities by exploring and vetting new systems for data entry, outcomes tracking and reporting.

Oversee GIK offers and analyze product donation placement accordingly through recipient partnerships.

Work with Development and Operations teams to forecast product needs and timing for national programs to ensure product availability and needs for all programs.

Lead teacher engagement on an annual basis to assess the needs of educators and their students, thereby confirming the core products to be fulfilled in KINF’s program offerings.

Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with product suppliers as needed.

Resource Center & Affiliate Network

Direct all aspects of day-to-day management of KINF’s Teacher Resource Center (TRC), evaluating the TRC in terms of support, resources, look-and-feel and the overall experience for the teachers who visit each day.

Develop & maintain relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, community organizations as well as potential and current TRC sponsors and volunteers.

Establish and maintain relationships with key education partners to strengthen and grow the partnership between school districts, including superintendents and principals.

Collaborate with internal teams to enhance teacher shopping experience, as well as to identify key needs (including product) and strategies to best serve local teachers.

Drive and own teacher experience, ensuring the highest level of service, respect and dignity to every teacher, from the time they arrive to when they and their students use the supplies and resources obtained from the TRC.

Ensure the appearance of the TRC, the layout, the flow, the merchandising, etc. are conducive for the best combination of experience, efficiency and accuracy.

Continually evaluate current inventory processes and implement solutions to monitor/track both inbound and outbound products through the TRC.

Expand the reach of the TRC to include strategies for testing new concepts and activations to reach more teachers and students throughout the entire state of Minnesota.

Ensure the TRC is operating efficiently and effectively, open to teachers during the days/times that are most supportive to them, not simply what’s most convenient for KINF.

Continually evaluate the needs of educators and students and work with internal teams to ensure they are provided the supplies most needed; expanding the products and resources made available to them.

Collaborate with internal teams to appropriately allocate products to both the TRC and the Network.

Actively support, drive and help inform the strategies and execution of KINF’s vision for the Network.

Lead as the primary liaison for all affiliates within the Network, drive Basecamp utilization, and help lead the Resource Center Council.

Evaluate and proactively work with affiliates to maximize and expand the joint impact of support within each of the communities served.

Evaluate the needs and opportunities within the Network, ensuring the efficiencies of Network platforms (Offer Platform, Purchase Portal, Logistics Platform) and helping to identify and execute on new platforms.

Identify potential key leaders within the Network and determine strategies to best engage them for the overall vision and mission on a national level on behalf of the Network.

Liaise with the Executive Directors within the Network on continuous growth and improvement strategies, to ensure focus on scale and impact, expanding KINF’s mission impact across the country via the Network.

National Teacher Community

Responsible for the overall strategy and development of building KINF’s national educator community, growing a network to help drive greater program/mission scale and impact.

Collaborate with both internal departments and the educators to identify opportunities to leverage the network for campaigns, events and sponsorship opportunities for donors and partners who are interested in supporting teachers and students.

Proactively coordinate with internal departments to prioritize school outreach in order to grow our educator network in identified communities, connecting with teachers and signing them up in our system to receive program and product support.

Upon signing of donor agreements, identify and confirm teachers and schools who are willing and able to participate in campaigns, events and donor partnerships, coordinating logistics/operational details as well as timing, communications, establishing clear expectations, and ensuring adherence to the brand value of honoring teachers and commitment to their experience.

Ensure strong partnership with the National Programs team for robust data and analytics, developing potential for specific cohorts for focus groups, surveys and studies, to both support ongoing programs and donor sponsorships, as well as to help frame and inform program strategies, updates, product selection, campaign/event ideas, product evaluations, etc.

Work closely with the educator network to encourage and obtain feedback, survey responses, stories, photos, videos, quotes, etc., to help drive KINF’s Voice of the Teacher strategies, thereby enabling greater understanding of where teachers are today and what they need to be successful, inform as to trends and developments within education relative to teachers, enlist educator support for potential grant opportunities, and to help close the loop with donors and partners in terms of impact and value provided by their funding.

Collaborate with the Brand Awareness & Engagement team to boost brand visibility and engagement with teachers to support continued growth of the educator network, help drive social media campaigns, increase awareness for KINF’s mission and campaigns/events, and assist in establishing KINF’s presence as a relevant leader in the educator realm.

Volunteer Management

Establish, execute and communicate vision and goals of KINF’s volunteer program, consistent with and to help enable fulfillment of KINF’s mission with far greater efficiency than by relying on staff alone.

Collaborate with cross functional departments to assess organizational needs that can be met with volunteer efforts.

Develop and maintain volunteer service descriptions for specific assignments and activities to meet the needs of KINF.

Design, implement, and manage a year-round schedule of volunteer recruitment strategies, needs and activities, job descriptions, volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service program goals.

Serve as KINF’s spokesperson for volunteer recruitment and engagement opportunities.

Oversee KINF’s Volunteer Management System (VMS) utilization to drive greater efficiencies, reporting and evaluation of volunteer needs and participation.

Establish, track, and report metrics for success (e.g. recruitment, retention rates, number of volunteer hours and the translated dollar value to KINF’s mission)

Drive consistent updates and calendar of events to key staff on upcoming volunteer groups, opportunities and activities.

Provide a positive, meaningful, and quality volunteer experience for individuals and groups.

Provide comprehensive volunteer training including orientation, tours, program materials, instructions, and safety protocols.

Ensure that volunteer led events, programs, and materials provided to volunteers are all consistent in branding, messaging, and visual representation in alignment with standards established by KINF.

Ensure safety protocols are both understood and followed by volunteer program staff and volunteers.

Management

Lead and support all Mission Impact staff, as one holistic department, bridging the value, needs and experience for each valued employee in a unified manner.

Create, monitor and manage department budget, maintaining strict controls and integrity of expenses, reimbursements and usage of KINF resources.

Supervise and coordinate overall administrative and operational tasks necessary for a high-performing and productive department.

Maintain a thorough understanding of KINF’s programs, activations, campaigns, internal processes, and operations.

Complete ad hoc projects as assigned or other duties as needed.

Attendance at and occasional travel to may be required for events and KINF-related appearances, including occasional nights and weekends.

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, management or related field

15+ years of experience in progressive, multi-functional and large-scale professional experience

10+ years of personnel management experience

7+ years of senior management experience

$110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
