Position Purpose A Youth Development Coordinator, Level 2 (YDC-2) should exhibit a specialized program skill and adeptness in effectively engaging youth of all ages at the Club. A YDC-2 is expected to independently manage departmental operations regularly, facilitate essential BGCSF programs, and ensure the safety of all members when assigned a Club duty or task. Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 1 pm - 6 pm
( 25 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours during the summer) This role is open at our Visitation Valley Clubhouse. Key Responsibilities Supervision & Safety:
Providing a safe and nurturing environment for youth participants. Program Facilitation:
Creating and leading engaging after-school programs and activities for a group of approximately 10 youth. Lesson Planning:
Developing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote personal growth, educational achievement, and character development. Mentoring:
Serving as a positive role model and mentor to young participants, fostering their self-esteem and personal development. Clubhouse Cultivation:
Creating standards and setting expectations based on mutual respect between staff and the community we serve. Team Collaboration:
Collaborating with junior-level colleagues to ensure program goals are met and to share best practices. Requirements 1 year of youth development experience working with youth ages 6-18 years old in a youth development setting and ability to create strong relationships with youth. Strong positive disciplinary skills with youth and ability to manage youth behaviors while maintaining high expectations. An interest in a variety of youth programs including technology, art, sports, and recreation. Proven communication, organizational, and self-starter ability. Strong ability to create and follow systems and procedures in a high-paced environment with continual distractions. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with education or coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, or related fields. Previous leadership or mentorship experience. Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or within 90 days of employment). Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively. Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid-level, or top of the range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $22.25 to $22.75.
