Job Summary
We’re looking to hire a hard-working custodian/janitor who can maintain the cleanliness and safety of our building. You’ll be responsible for all cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing restrooms with soapy water, and shampooing carpets, in addition to maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and emptying trash. The ideal candidate has a great work ethic, experience with cleaning equipment and supplies, and takes pride in a job well done.
You must have a good work ethic, be a good communicator and have the ability to work well with others on a team.
Responsibilities:
Cleans sanctuary, conference rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, kitchens, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing.
Disposes of all waste and garbage in and around GCFBC facilities.
Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks according to OSHA requirements.
Cleans and waxes floors using industrial-size mops and/or machines.
Strips and polishes floors using buffing machines.
Washes blinds, windows, walls and doors with prescribed solutions.
Sweeps sidewalks, porches, and tiled surfaces.
Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
Cleans and shampoo carpets as needed.
Reports needs for minor building or equipment repair to supervisor.
Replaces light bulbs and/or reports safety hazards to supervisor.
Cuts grass, trims shrubs, waters plants, and performs other related duties on the grounds when assigned.
Maintain supervision of supplies and materials in storage units both on-site and off-site.
Performs other related duties as assigned by Facilities Maintenance Manager, Stewardship Designee(s), Sr. Pastor, or Director of Ministry.

Qualifications:
Education (Preferred): High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience
Valid Driver’s License
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and in writing with Gethsemane members, staff and internal partners, external vendors, and visitors.
