WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a member of the Custodial & Maintenance Team, the Facilities Janitor is responsible for keeping the facility clean, safe, and in good condition. Other expectations may include:
- Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors, furniture, and restrooms, other surfaces
- Sanitizing: Disinfecting surfaces, restrooms, and commonly used items
- Trash removal: Taking out the trash and recycling
- Maintenance: Performing minor repairs, such as replacing light bulbs or unclogging toilets
- Safety: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and notifying supervisors of unsafe conditions
- Inventory: Maintaining cleaning and maintenance supplies, and placing orders for new products
- Outdoor maintenance: Removing litter, snow, and debris from sidewalks and parking area
- Window cleaning: Washing windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Carpet cleaning: Steam-cleaning or shampooing carpets
- Equipment operation: Operating floor scrubbers and other equipment
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience for a large facility such as a warehouse, school district, airport, shopping center, etc. is helpful but not required
- High school diploma or GED
- Clean driving record
- Able to work as part of a team with a great attitude
- High standards for following instructions, detailed work, and work quality
- Able to stand for extended periods and move about the facility as needed
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
