Job Location : WrapWorks Southeast - La Mesa, CA Position Type : Full Time Education Level : High School Salary Range : $23.00 - $24.00 Hourly Travel Percentage : Up to 50% Job Shift : Day Job Category : Behavioral Health Support Staff Are you a caregiver of a youth who has struggled with mental health challenges or had involvement with Children Welfare, Probation, Regional Center, or Special Education? Are you wanting to mentor other parents to support them in navigating these systems of care and gaining valuable skills to be successful caregivers? We are currently hiring Parent Partners to provide emotional support and parenting skills coaching to caregivers in the community and act as part of a larger wraparound team to support youth success. Apply today if you: Want to serve families and youth with significant mental health disorders, multigenerational trauma, and co-occurring disorders, while preventing youth from losing placement with their families Are looking for a fun, supportive, fast-paced work environment Enjoy working on a multi-disciplinary team Seek ongoing training and supervision Are interested in providing community-based treatment, have reliable transportation and prefer a flexible schedule Want 3 weeks of Paid Time off and 11 paid holidays ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In support of the client’s treatment plan, provide education, advocacy, crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation, and other therapeutic services in a community-based fashion as they navigate through the systems of care Utilizes supervision, consultation, and training to provide high-quality services to families, including an evidence-based parenting curriculum Locate, coordinate and develop linguistically and culturally diverse informal and formal resources and networks for families in the communities where they reside Appropriately share a personal story to enhance engagement with families and increase awareness of clinical staff about parenting challenges and difficulties maneuvering the ‘systems’, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with families Provides culturally competent education and hands-on coaching to parents to help them better understand how the “systems” work, and the process of accessing community resources Assists parents in completing Wellness Notebooks and connection to needed behavioral health services Coordinates treatment with referring parties and outside resources including schools, psychiatrists, support groups, child care, government assistance, family advocacy programs, and others as appropriate Maintains accurate, timely, and complete case records per Medi-Cal requirements and SDCC policies and procedures Maintains clear, effective, and open communication between multi-disciplinary clinical staff, and administrative personnel within and between SDCC programs Encourage involvement of parents in our Program Advisory Group (PAG) and WrapWorks events Availability to work evenings Fulfills all required training including SDCC Partners Training, applicable EBP trainings, cultural competency, and HIPAA DIVERSITY STATEMENT Actively recruiting, retaining, and supporting diverse staff at all levels of the organization Ensuring that diverse perspectives are included in the development and implementation of policies, practices and services, and that individuals feel empowered to advance our mission within an atmosphere of trust, safety, and respect Encourage and provide access to professional development in order to deliver equitable and culturally informed services to the population we serve.
