Salary: $20-$25/HR + OT

Heavy Equipment Operator

 

 

We are currently seeking a full time Heavy Equipment Operator dedicated to our Aggregate Crushing Operation located in the Los Lunas, New Mexico. The primary function of the operator is that they must be capable of safely, efficiently, and competently operating a wide variety of heavy equipment such as a Loader, Haul Truck, Water Truck, Excavator, and Skid Steer.   

 

This position requires safety minded individuals with strong drive and enthusiasm to advance our organization forward.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Perform routine inspections of equipment.
  • Perform routine general daily maintenance on equipment.   
  • Immediately Communicate to supervisor any equipment issues that need to be addressed. 
  • Able to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Comply with company policies and government regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
  • Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Remain alert for hazards and observe MSHA and operating rules and regulations.
  • Safety, Safety, Safety comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards of safety.
  • Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment and plant as required or directed by supervisor.

 

Applicant Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • A Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to get to and from work is required
  • M.S.H.A. certificate part 46 or willingness to obtain certification - the company will pay for certification
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Punctuality is required
  • Must be a team player who is willing and able to learn


Education / Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Understanding of operational characteristics of heavy power-driven equipment.
  • Recognizes safety issues and communicates appropriately
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience

 

Physical Demands

  • Physical Effort: Sit for extended periods of time. Bend, lay, and crawl under to inspect and perform general routine maintenance on equipment.   
  • Travel: none.
