Heavy Equipment Operator Job at Wofford Earthworks Llc in Cumming

The Heavy Equipment Operator is expected to execute the directions from the Site Foreman with the capabilities to operate all equipment on a job site. This position requires leadership when a crew is needing direction to execute work properly. The goal of a Heavy Equipment Operator is to perfect their craft and learn from the Site Foreman about the processes and expectations of a job site.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery on construction job sites.
• Work closely with the foreman to ensure project/job assignments are met.
• Provide support for the successful completion of construction and pre-engineered plans.
• Operate all heavy equipment like earthmovers, bulldozers, front-end loaders, and other related equipment.
• Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage to property.
• Ensure and manage the machines or equipment in a safe and secure way.
• Perform periodical safety, maintenance, or servicing checks to ensure the proper functioning of the equipment.
• Inform and advise the management or repairmen for major repairs or maintenance.
• Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, etc.
• Respond to signals and directions by other operators and work in coordination with them.
• Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the road and transport system while driving/working, so normal activities are not disrupted.
• Operate the equipment manually and using electronic or technical methods of operation.
• Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site, or traffic laws.
• Report to the Field Supervisor.
• Perform other duties, when assigned.
• General knowledge of plans.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance (i.e, keeping the cab clean, knocking out filters, greasing equipment, etc. ).
• Adhere to all Wofford Earthworks, LLC contractual obligations with all clients.
• Generate a Daily Report for the Project Coordinator containing details and photographs of each work day.
