for a list of all office locations.The candidate will be working within HNTB’s Digital Transformation Solutions Group as a part of the Virtual Design and Construction team that focuses heavily on the advancement of VDC and BIM for planning, design, construction, and operations/maintenance for both Vertical and Horizontal project types. As part of this team, the Sr. VDC Specialist’s primary duty is to advance the use of VDC and BIM for HNTB’s Infrastructure services and deliverables. This position requires the ability to work with and lead other Technologists within the team to develop, implement, train and support VDC and BIM for Civil and Architectural, while managing VDC and BIM for Civil and Architectural efforts as needed to support projects of medium to large scope.Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Serves as the thought leader for the industry and technical lead in the development and implementation of VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical technologies for all phases of a project (planning, design, construction and operations/maintenance).Has proven experience producing, leading and managing VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical services on complex civil infrastructure including; roads, bridges, rail, transit and aviation projects.Lead project teams, as needed to ensure successful planning and execution of VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical on their projects. This includes BIM Execution Plan Development, BIM Management, BIM Production, Training and Support throughout all phases for projects of both medium and large scope.Assist HNTB clients in determining VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical technology solutions that best meet their immediate and long-term needs. Meets with client and technology staff, as needed to define and document system requirements. Develops system configuration specifications, conceptual and logical workflow and business process diagrams for system development or customization.Recommends enhancements or changes to HNTB technology, methodology and process standards. Interactively and incrementally improves HNTB deliverables and processes.Is knowledgeable of and follows industry trends to ensure VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical technology efforts align with current and future needs of our clients, as well as within our HNTB project teams.Ability to develop and configure asset attribution in the design phase through to the operations hand-off into Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS).Ability to lead teams in the development of 4D, 5D, and potentially 6D solutions.Assists in the development of VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical project scopes, fees and proposals.Experience with the following design applications is favored: Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Infraworks, Autodesk BIM 360, Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Recap Pro, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Forge, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Tandem, Bentley Microstation, Epic, Trimble Quadri, ESRI ArcPro, IBM Maximo, Digital Twin Platforms.Assist 3D Visualizations teams as needed to develop VDC and BIM for Civil workflows & processes for the creation of 3D Renderings, Animations, Augmented, Virtual and Mixed reality deliverables throughout all phases of the project.What You'll Do:Designs and develops the VDC process for complex and critical construction projects using software such as Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, etc.Creates and maintains BIM models using software such as Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, etc.Performs clash detection and coordination using software such as Navisworks, BIM 360, etc.Produces 3D visualizations and animations using software such as Lumion, Enscape, etc.Implements and oversees VDC technology initiatives such as laser scanning, drones, virtual reality, etc.Provides support for software and hardware systems that are used by the VDC team.Works with the VDC team to ensure quality and accuracy of BIM models and deliverables.Communicates with project stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.Trains and mentors junior VDC specialists.Provides technical leadership and direction for VDC projects and teams.Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:Associate’s degree or certificate in computer-aided design (CAD), BIM, VDC, or a related field and 9 years of relevant experience, orBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of related experience, orIn lieu of education, 11 years of relevant experience.What You'll Bring:Knowledge of advanced VDC concepts such as BIM levels of development (LOD), clash detection, coordination, etc.Proficiency in software such as Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, etc.Experience with VDC technology initiatives such as laser scanning, drones, virtual reality, etc.Ability to design and develop the VDC process for complex and critical construction projects.Good communication and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and quality.Experience with web development frameworks such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.What We Prefer:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.Additional Information:Click here for benefits information:
