Heavy Equipment Operator/Pile Driver
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three years of heavy civil construction experience preferred.
- Experience with hydraulic, friction, and pile driving a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes, executes and adheres to the company’s safety program.
- Operates multiple pieces of construction equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction, and paving including Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Graders, Skid Steers and other pieces of equipment.
- Operates all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Performs daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Conducts pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary.
- Maneuvers heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
- Uses various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling.
- Operates equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings.
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.
- Performs other construction duties or task as required based on company’s needs.
