Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Repair of company owned equipment as assigned by the equipment manager.
- Performance of preventative equipment services on all equipment.
- Diagnose problems with equipment/engines.
- Communication when parts are needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Field visits for equipment repair as needed.
- Continuous study of our equipment and related manuals.
- Care and maintenance of shop tools related to repairs.
- Testing of equipment prior to shipment (TBM setups, boring machines, etc.)
- Prepare service reports and maintain service logs.
- Other duties as requested by the Shop/Equipment Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in the heavy construction equipment and/or agriculture industry OR strong mechanical & diesel background/aptitude.
- Strong independent work ethic with ability to work within a team.
- Clear and concise communications.
- Strong sense of urgency, focusing on time.
- Knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical, hydraulic and brake systems.
- Ability to read manuals and schematics.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must pass pre-employment physical (medical examination).
- Meet company's substance abuse testing requirements.
- CDL preferred.
- Welding experience preferred.
