We have established lasting relationships with many residential, commercial, and industrial utility customers. We are a unique electrical contractor due to the fact that we perform so many different types of electrical work. We perform residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work, including sports lighting, airport lighting, traffic signal, underground systems, pole-line, and utility work. With over 120 employees and 300 pieces of equipment, there is no job too small or too large for Jess Howard Electric Company.
POSITION DESCRIPTION DETAILS
The Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the companys fleet of heavy equipment, includingbackhoes, track hoes, skid steers and other construction equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Maintaining and repairing heavy-duty equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment and trucks including issues with diesel, hydraulics, and heavy equipment needs.
- Performs preventive maintenance schedules, required inspections and winterization procedures.
- Responds to equipment repair needs, in the field, as required by conducting and/or coordinating repair activities.
- Corrects equipment deficiencies by replacing, repairing, or adjusting sub-assemblies.
- Verifies all adjustments or repairs.
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements.
- Maintains assigned equipment appearance, if assigned, by cleaning and washing.
- Maintains equipment records by documenting all services and repairs and filing them on-site.
- Assists with deliveries of heavy equipment to the job sites.
- Updates and improves technical knowledge and ability by participating in educational opportunities, and reading technical and regulatory publications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE
- 2-3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Technical/vocational school degree preferred.
- Class A CDL preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
WORK ARRANGEMENT
In office/ shop, occasionally on Job Sites
SALARY RANGE
$19-25 / hr, based on experience
