Salary: $27.50- $35.00 an hour DOE 

Qualifications 

2-3 year or more experience in operating logging or heavy equipment 

Maintain effective working relationship with co-workers 

Maintain certification and qualification to work within the minimum approach distance of energized power lines 

Must be able to regularly lift 50lbs or more 

Must be able to work outdoors in varying environments and weather conditions 

Competent in required job skills and knowledge 

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions 

Meet productivity standards, complete work in timely manner 

Prioritize and plan work activities 

Observe safety and security procedures; use equipment and materials properly 

Consistently at work and on time 

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus 

Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to be insured by company’s vehicle insurance policy. Must have experience driving and backing up trailers. 

Must read, write, speak English to be able to clearly communicate with crews and crane operators. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

Safely operate heavy equipment performing harvesting, tree removal, earth work and debris clean up 

Operate an excavator, bulldozer, wheel loader, wheel loader with grapple or log fork, track skid loader, logging harvester, chipper, grapple skidder, log loader, chipper, skid steer, masticator,  feller buncher, and spider lift 

Run equipment to company and manufacturers standards 

Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site or traffic laws 

Move levers and depress pedals to maneuver equipment 

Function in a strenuous and dangerous work environment in varying terrains and environmental conditions 

Complete work projects on time and in an effective manner 

Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs 

Fuel and service equipment as required 

Inform and advise management or repair technician for major repairs or maintenance 

Perform daily inspections and maintenance evaluations/checks on all equipment before and after use 

Perform loading and unloading of heavy equipment 

If qualified, maybe required to transport equipment 

Understand and perform various daily and weekly assignments from oral or written communication 

Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly 

Adhere to all company safety standards/policies and applicable OSHA regulations 

Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
