Job Description
We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic for our Benicia, CA office.
- Update mechanic personnel on new processes and procedures.
- Repairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks by performing the following duties.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:
- Works with all company locations mechanics shop to update on processes and procedures in the mechanic shop.
- Works closely with the mechanics at all company locations.
- Repair and maintain trucks and equipment to Manufacturer and DOT Spec.
- Perform maintenance and repairs to manufacture spec as required.
- Perform 90-day BIT Inspections to DOT requirements.
- Perform field repairs on trucks and equipment as needed.
- Order parts and supplies as needed.
- Maintain file, P.O. log and all paperwork.
- Clean and maintain shop appearance while keeping all shop tools and equipment in proper running order.
- Document all repairs performed by all shop personnel, maintain files on all vehicles.
- Weld and fabricate specialty items as needed.
- Maintain and repair building and ground as needed.
- Perform any other additional duties as needed within skill level.
- Mentor shop employees to assist with development of skill level.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with some college.
- 8+ years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Minimum 4 years mechanical experience working on Heavy Duty Vehicles & Equipment.
- Three years of increased responsibility as a Mechanic and with running a shop.
- Able to work an afternoon/evening shift.
- Knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office Suites, Smart Phones, Apps, etc.
- Understanding of air brake systems and basic hydraulics.
- Welding is a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondences (including periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, government regulations, etc.).
- Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Proficient in mathematics for role (including calculations, measurements, percentages, proportions, circumference, volume algebra and geometry, etc.).
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of ADP Payroll systems and Cummins, Kenworth, Snap-On Manufacturing software.
- Valid CA driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
