SST Direct is hiring: Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Equipment in Chevy Chase

DIRECT HIRE: A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic in the Bethesda, MD. area.

Pay: $42hr.
Schedule: Mondays - Fridays (some Saturdays)
Reports to: General Superintendent

Role & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with equipment department
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, such as trucks, tractors, and cranes
• This includes changing oil, checking fluid levels, rotating tires, and replacing or repairing parts 
• Use diagnostic software and test equipment to identify mechanical problems
• Install and repair special equipment, such as hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and transmissions 
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and make emergency repairs in the field
• Comply with safety and environmental regulations, such as those from OSHA and the EPA
• Instruct operators on how to use and service equipment
• Keep records and make reports
• Detail-orientation, mechanical inclination, good eye-hand coordination, excellent troubleshooting skills, and organization

Qualifications:

• Must be a certified diesel mechanic
• Minimum 5 years of repair experience, preferably on underground equipment
• Must be able to perform jobsite equipment service and repair
• Must have Heavy Equipment Operator experience
• Welding certification, or capability
