The Office of Communications & Marketing promotes the state's public presence with stakeholders, customers, media, and the legislature. We are currently recruiting for a Director of Content Development (Deputy Director 3) to assist our efforts in creating and disseminating internal and external agency communications.
The duties of the Director of Content Development include, but are not limited to:
Lead and mentor multiple direct reports to produce high-quality content and achieve established team and agency goals.
Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Communications & Marketing to create and adhere to a strategic communications plan.
Work closely with Directors of Marketing & Media Relations to align messaging across platforms.
Lead written content development across the agency with a focus on humanizing the work.
Track output, identify trends, and address opportunities.

Qualifications Completion of undergraduate core program in journalism, English, communications or related field; minimum 8 years’ experience; 24 months experience in management.
MAJOR WORKER CHARACTERISTICS:
Proven ability to simplify complex topics; strong writer with experience writing speeches and remarks for executives; thorough understanding of strategic communication; familiar with AP Style and able to create impactful messages for different audiences; understanding of state government and legislative processes; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of branding principles; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to identify a storytelling opportunity; must have a strong work ethic and take initiative; familiarity with behavioral healthcare is a plus.

This position is unclassified per 124.11 (A) (9), Ohio Revised Code.
Currently operating under a hybrid schedule. Two days in-office per week, subject to operational need.
