Job Description
Purpose
The Paver, Screw & Roller Operators are responsible for safely operating equipment used for paving road beds, parking lots, or airport runways and taxiways.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate machinery to spread, smooth and level asphalt.
- Responsible for monitoring the material run quantities.
- Ensure that the flow of material and proper depth of material being laid by the meet all customer specifications, adjust as needed.
- May operate a variety of equipment dependent upon skill set.
- Performs a variety of tasks associated with paving operations including job site labor duties.
- Participates in cross training activities.
- Operates all equipment and tools according to safety procedures and performs all manual labor activities in a safe manner.
Education and Experience
- 2+ years experience working on a paving crew.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Additional education a plus.
Skills and Specifications
- Thorough understanding of various aspects of the paving industry and all types of paving equipment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to bend, crouch, and stand for long periods of time.
