Job Duties
The Executive Director of the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective regulation of motor vehicle dealers in Virginia. This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and engagement with the Board to ensure that the agency fulfills its mission to protect the interests of consumers and regulate the motor vehicle sales industry in a fair and professional manner.
Minimum Qualifications
Visionary Leadership: Ability to anticipate and adapt to changes in the automotive industry and regulatory environment.
Strong Communication Skills: Able to clearly articulate the Board’s mission and goals to stakeholders, including government officials, industry representatives, and the public.
Ethical and Transparent: Maintain the highest levels of integrity and transparency in operations and dealings with stakeholders.
Collaboration & Influence: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including Board members, government agencies, and the motor vehicle community.
Progressively responsible experience in public administration, regulatory compliance, or the motor vehicle industry.
Proven experience working with or leading a Board of Directors or similar governing body.
Experience in financial management, including budget preparation and fund oversight.
Strong understanding of public sector operations, particularly in regulatory and compliance environments.
Familiarity with motor vehicle dealer licensing and sales operations, consumer protection, and transportation law.
Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and complex projects.
Experience working in a regulatory role or government agency is preferred.
