Mechanic III (or Drill Rig Mechanic)
Travel: 50%+
Job Summary:
Mersino is seeking a skilled Mechanic III (Drill Rig Mechanic) with expertise in hydraulic systems and experience with large cranes to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing drill rigs, particularly with a focus on hydraulic systems and crane operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our drilling equipment and heavy pump machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on drill rigs, focusing on hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components
· Inspect, maintain, and repair hydraulic components, including pumps, valves, hoses, and cylinders, ensuring optimal performance and preventing system failures
· Conduct repairs on large crane systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards
· Use diagnostic tools and methods to identify mechanical issues and recommend solutions, prioritizing safety and equipment longevity
· Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards
· Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices, including proper lockout/tagout procedures, PPE usage, and equipment handling guidelines
· Work closely with other mechanics, supervisors, and operators to maintain an efficient and well-functioning fleet
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in drill rig maintenance and repair, with a strong focus on hydraulic systems.
· Proficiency in working with large cranes, with a solid understanding of load dynamics and mechanical systems specific to crane operation.
· Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical troubleshooting, welding, and other relevant technical skills.
· Relevant certifications in hydraulic systems, rigging, or crane maintenance are preferred.
· Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in varying outdoor conditions, and meet the physical demands of the job.
· Strong communication skills for documenting repairs, working within a team, and understanding technical instructions.
