Summary

Hi-Way Paving has immediate openings for experienced, mainline concrete Slipform Paving Equipment Operators. These individuals will continuously travel between our projects in Nashville (Tennessee), Charlotte (North Carolina), and future locations to help execute our slip-form concrete paving operations on highways and airfields.

Responsibilities

  • Operate slipform paving (heavy) equipment in compliance with the manufacturer’s and company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist mechanic(s) and provide recommendations for repair, maintenance, and improving performance.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials from job-site surfaces, vehicles, and/or trailers.
  • Ensure company equipment, material, and the worksite are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation, as required.
    Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience operating slipform concrete pavers, such as the Gomaco 2800, on large-scale stringless, mainline paving projects, required.
  • 3+ years of heavy/highway construction experience as an operator or laborer, required.
  • Experience with concrete paving projects on airfields (runways/taxiways), preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined; experience with mechanic and maintenance work, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment and ethical decisions. 
  • Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance. 
  • Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical capabilities required are climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.

Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is a general contractor in the heavy/civil construction space focusing on projects involving significant amounts of concrete paving on airfields.


We operate in several southeastern and midwestern states with current job sites in Tennessee and North Carolina as well as corporate/back office operations in Ohio (our headquarters) and remote locations. We perform most of our work and services as a prime contractor but occasionally serve as a subcontractor on principal contracts with federal, state, and other governmental agencies as well as private owners.
