We are looking to hire an Equipment Operator for a Private Club.
Main Duties:
Main Duties:
- Mows greens, tees, collars, approaches to greens and other areas not accessible with gang mowers; rakes sand traps; aerifies greens; verticuts tees and greens; operates sod cutter, top dresser, walk mowers, chain saw, and loader.
- Have the ability to cut cups; mows rough with rotary and operates other equipment as directed; drives dump truck; cleans equipment used daily and reports equipment problems to Head mechanic immediately; responsible for basic preventative maintenance on equipment only as directed and for returning equipment to a designated location at the maintenance facility.
- Perform small course improvement projects.
- Attend monthly and weekly staff meetings (including all training and safety meetings).
Other Duties:
- Clean maintenance area and equipment.
- Report any conditions or challenges that need attention to the Assistant Superintendent of Golf Course Maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of the repair and maintenance of golf course equipment utilizing industry standards.
- Extensive knowledge of the tools supplies, materials, and their function in the repair and maintenance of golf course equipment.
- Knowledge of welding equipment and the safe operation of the equipment as it pertains the golf course maintenance.
- Ability to recognize, communicate and/or resolve maintenance and/or repair challenges.
- Ability to safely operate a golf course and landscape equipment.
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance techniques and methods.
- Ability to identify plant species common to the southwest region.
- Knowledge of fertilizers and pesticides, and their application techniques and purpose.
- Leadership abilities.
- Ability to work alone with limited supervision, follow instructions and be detail-oriented.
