RDR is seeking Underground Utility Equipment Operators to complete our Excavation services division. These utility projects are in Central West Virginia and are prevailing wage.

Job Summary:

Equipment Operators will report directly to their RDR supervisor.

Job duties:

  • Excavation near existing utilities.
  • Align and position pipes/drainage structures to prepare them for installation in a trench or excavation.
  • Check slopes for conformance to requirements.
  • Handling excavated & backfill material.
  • Excavate trenches to grade at required depths and proper slopes.
  • Proper backfill techniques to keep pipe on grade as well as sustain the desired pipe circumference/shape to obtain compaction.
  • Rig, lift, swing & set precast concrete structures on grade.
  • Operate the machine in a safe and efficient manner around the work areas.
  • Understands and watches/checks machine control, gauges, fluid levels & lubrication daily.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of excavator operation required.
  • Excavation and large pipe installation for underground sewer utilities experience required.
  • Previous experience in water main installation.
  • Experience with gravity sewer systems.
  • ·Must be able to lift up-to 75lbs.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
