Job Description
Job Summary
The Driver and Equipment Operator is responsible for operating company vehicles and various types of equipment safely and efficiently to complete assigned tasks. This role requires adherence to all company and safety policies and demands a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. The Driver and Equipment Operator will assist with transporting materials, operating machinery, and performing minor maintenance on equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Driving, Trailer-Pulling and Transportation
- Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks and other transportation equipment, to transport materials, tools, and equipment between job sites and storage locations.
- Securely hitch, load, and pull trailers to safely transport heavy equipment and materials to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in good operating condition.
- Adhere to all state and local driving laws and company driving policies.
Equipment Operation
- Operate various types of heavy equipment, such as track skid loaders, mini-excavators, forklifts, and other specialized machinery, as needed.
- Load and haul materials with dump trailers.
- Follow standard operating procedures for each piece of equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Perform equipment inspections and basic maintenance, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, company policies, and any specific job site safety requirements.
- Identify and communicate potential hazards to the supervisor or safety team.
- Pass Drug Screen
- Pass Back ground check.
Additional Duties
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and vehicles.
- Provide support to other team members on job sites as directed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a driver and/or heavy equipment operator is required. Experience with specific equipment skid loaders, mini excavators is preferred.
- License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Chauffeur License is required, CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) Class B may be required depending on vehicle type.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 100lbs and work in various weather conditions. Must have good manual dexterity and visual acuity.

Work Environment
This role primarily works outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, loud noises, and dusty environments. Physical stamina is required to meet the demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
