THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION THAT WORKS THE DURATION OF A SNOW STORM
NELTS of CT, LLC is a leading provider in Landscaping, Sweeping, & Snow Removal that is a privately owned and operated company based in North Franklin CT. We strive to give our customers the best service and use only the highest quality products to deliver outstanding results.
We are searching for honest, skilled, and dedicated heavy equipment operators for snow removal.
Heavy Equipment Operators are all responsible for working independently or with a team. Responsible for clearing snow for various commercial properties in an efficient manner, promoting worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Available to work 24/7, including holidays and weekends during snow storms.
- Must have a cell phone that can be reached 24/7 and ability to download & use our apps to track work time, check in and out of jobs, and submit photos.
- Work closely with or as the Foreman, ensuring the team completes but not limited to: de-icing and clearing/shoveling of snow from parking lots, sidewalks, emergency doors, fire hydrant, receiving/shipping decks, etc.
- Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow.
- Maintain and care for your personal or company provided equipment & tools
- Proficiently and safely use loaders, skid steers,/bobcats, etc.
- Perform highly physical work outdoors on a consistent basis in all weather conditions, specifically very cold, icy, snowy weather.
- It is required all operators have cold weather gear and wear it appropriately to protect themselves against adverse weather conditions. Company may supply company issued uniforms,
- Understand and meet contract scheduled deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality.
- Work as part of a team and take direction.
- Keep accurate time sheet records, by punching in and our of app
- Attend training classes and seminars as requested by management.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by Foreman - We are looking for team players.
- 1 year experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steer/bobcats, etc.
- Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, plows, snow blowers, ATV’s, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal
- Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, flexible and detailed oriented
- Must be professional in appearance and actions.
- Ability to identify & report concerns proactively, such as team member no shows, delays, etc.
- Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours, a clear schedule to work all hours of the day, any day of the week and a strong work ethic. This position will require, although rare, potential holiday work.
- This is a weather dependent position with no guaranteed hours.
- Punctual and dependable with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work long hours consecutive days
- Physical demands require constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching
- Frequently required to stand and walk, lift and/or move up to 75lbs without assistance & over 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Constantly required to communicate with ability to talk and hear.
- Job will require constantly working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements.
- This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.'
