Job Description
Description- Safely use a pickup truck, dump truck, ATV, and/or skid loader with plow attachment to remove snow from commercial parking lots, private roads, and private communities. Under supervision from the operations manager, you will be required to follow a specific route using the company’s management software to record service times and take photos to verify completion of work. Most drivers work in teams of 2: one driver, and one laborer. Most loader operators work as part of a team on larger properties. We service local and national businesses all with the same quality and speed of service. Some drivers are offered the ability to work the day prior to a snow event to pre-treat lots and walkways, but not always required.

A good candidate might enjoy working outside, enjoy driving large vehicles and equipment, has a flexible work schedule during the winter months (specifically whenever it snows), has a strong work ethic to complete projects on-time, knows how to use a tablet or smart phone, enjoys hot coffee and music at 2:00AM (not a requirement ) and wants to be a part of a small company that creates a safe environment for our community members and fellow businesses.

- Evaluating properties, reporting safety concerns and sales opportunities.
- Direction and oversight of crew member(s) of a single production team.
- Creating positive attitudes for crew members and leading by example.
- Cleanliness of production equipment and vehicle.
- Assessing and reporting maintenance/ repairs of production equipment to the correct personnel.
- Maintaining DOT, MDA, and other government and/or trade mandated licenses, certifications, and regulations.
- Ensuring in-field safety and all PPE being utilized per company and government regulations.
- Represent the company. One must properly represent the views, image, and company culture as a competent crew leader while in or out of the field.
- Proper reporting of production times, breaks, expenses, and other company specific record keeping requirements.
- Hands-on production of services explained in duties below:
- Utilization of large, powerful equipment such as skid loaders, ATV, pickup truck, single axle dump truck, bulk salt spreaders and other snow removal equipment.
- Utilization of small equipment such as hand tools, shovels, snow blowers, leaf blowers, salt spreaders, etc.
- Driving a large commercial vehicle possibly with trailer.
- Light maintenance duties of equipment in day-to-day operations and production: fueling and easy repairs or adjustments to equipment.
- Load materials into vehicle prior to snow event, and out of vehicle upon completion.
- May be required to wash and treat vehicle/equipment following each snow event to remove snow and brine.
Requirements-
- Plow drivers and operators must have a valid Driver’s License that meets the requirements of the company, insurance company, and ability to meet minimum requirements set for by the Department of Transportation.
- DOT physical must be obtained prior to driving company vehicle. If not already obtained prior to employment, our company will reimburse the direct cost of obtaining a DOT physical card and maintaining possession of the biennial DOT physical once employed for 60 days.
- Strong understanding of snow removal services and vehicle safety.
- Must possess required documents verifying the ability to work in the United States.
- Flexible schedule: The ability to work overtime, weekdays, weekends, holidays, day and/or night, start work at odd hours, and be available during every snow event.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities outlined above, simultaneously.
- Ability to manage others and work closely with co-workers to produce a quality product or service.
- Communicate effectively through writing and orally. Bilingual is a plus but not a requirement.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Working in weather conditions that may be considered extreme.
- At least 3 years of driving experience with a valid driver’s license.
