Project Coordinator
Overview: Fulfilling Department of State's (DOS) requirement to provide best-in-class technical security engineering, design, installation, maintenance, repair, and project management services in support of the U.S. Department of State (the Department or DOS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), Office of Security Technology (ST). We are seeking an experienced electrician to join our team. This Position is contingent upon contract award. Primary Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair security systems in compliance with Department of State regulations and contract requirements. Utilize expertise in conduit installation, including both electrical metallic tubing (EMT) and rigid pipe (RGS), to facilitate the wiring and integration of security system components. Demonstrate proficiency in conduit bending techniques to accurately measure, cut, and shape conduit according to project specifications and electrical drawings. Utilize power tools and equipment, including drills, saws, and conduit benders, to complete installation tasks safely and efficiently. Operate man lifts and other aerial equipment as needed to access installation locations at varying heights. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately. Collaborate effectively with team members, including other electricians, security technicians, and project managers, to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion of tasks. Maintain a high level of professionalism while working in US government facilities overseas, adhering to security protocols and regulations at all times. Adhere to safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and fellow team members. Supervisory Responsibilities:
N/A Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Electrician, preferably with a focus on security systems installation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to pass and maintain medical clearance for overseas work. Proficiency in conduit installation, including EMT and rigid pipe, as well as conduit bending techniques. Experience using power tools and equipment commonly used in electrical installations. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and electrical drawings accurately. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor, particularly when working in sensitive government facilities. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Possess and maintain a valid journeyman electrician license. Security Clearance:
Possess a SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to maintain required Security Clearance/access approvals. Physical Demands:
The ability to work under extreme hot or cold weather conditions with exposure to dust or dirt is routine and may require the use of protective personal equipment (PPE). Travel:
This position requires approximately 75% travel overseas to support Government facilities. Work Environment:
Typical assignments are frequently performed in both internal and external environments with a variety of weather conditions.
