Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to join our Medical Device software organization as a long-term consultant. In this pivotal role, you will drive Agile practices, foster high-performing Scrum teams, and ensure successful delivery of innovative product capabilities, features, and solutions. You will collaborate closely with Scrum teams, Product Owners, and leadership to align team efforts with business strategies, enhance software development processes, and deliver exceptional results. Key Responsibilities: Scrum Team Leadership: • Lead one or more Scrum Teams, fostering collaboration and teamwork among members. • Coach team members in Scrum roles and responsibilities, encouraging cross-training and support as needed. • Guide teams to connect their behaviors with Agile principles and the Scrum framework. Facilitation and Coaching: • Facilitate key Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives) using diverse facilitation techniques. • Tailor coaching approaches based on unique individual and team behavioral styles. • Ensure effective Scrum events, artifacts, and commitments (Product Goal, Sprint Goal, Definition of Done). • Apply servant leadership principles to guide teams toward self-management and continuous improvement. Product Backlog Management: • Partner with Product Owners and Product Development Managers to ensure effective backlog management and alignment with priorities. • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions to ensure teams have a clear understanding of deliverables. Impediment Resolution and Continuous Improvement: • Identify and remove impediments to the team’s success, fostering accountability and proactive problem-solving. • Facilitate root cause analysis sessions and collaborate with teams on solutions. • Promote adherence to team working agreements and facilitate their creation. Agile Advocacy: • Educate teams and stakeholders on Agile principles and frameworks, ensuring alignment with the Agile Manifesto. • Facilitate organizational Agile events, such as Communities of Practice or Lean Coffee sessions, to promote an Agile culture. • Stay informed about updates to the Scrum Guide and incorporate new practices as appropriate. Performance Monitoring: • Evaluate and coach teams to improve productivity, engagement, and performance. • Apply conflict resolution techniques to address and mitigate challenges. Qualifications: Must Have: • Bachelor’s degree. • 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master for software engineering teams or in related project management roles. Nice to Have: • First-level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I). • Second-level Scrum Master certification (A-CSM, PSM II).
