As a servant leader, the Senior Scrum Master fosters a culture of collaboration, effective communication, and continuous improvement within the Scrum team. They serve as a mentor, guiding the team in the adoption and execution of Agile principles and practices.What You'll DoThis role requires a seasoned Scrum Master who can inspire teams to reach their highest potential, drive project success, and contribute to a culture of continuous growth and improvementFacilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Demos, and Retrospectives, with an emphasis on optimizing team performance and ensuring productive outcomes.Facilitate discussions and drive resolution to issues.Maintain dependency plan between planned sprints across development, infrastructure, and third parties.Act as a liaison between the team and everyone else to minimize interruptions to the sprint, keeping the team focused on delivering a quality product on time.Identify and swiftly address impediments and obstacles that may hinder the team's progress, ensuring the team can meet their sprint goals efficiently.Provide expert guidance and coaching to the Scrum team on Agile methodologies and best practices, leveraging extensive experience and deep knowledge.Foster clear and consistent communication between the development team and Product Owner to maintain alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle. Help the Product Owner manage customer expectations and stakeholder communicationsDeliver timely and transparent updates on Sprint and project progress to enable informed decision-making and proactive course corrections.Monitor and analyze key Agile metrics, such as velocity and burn-down charts, to assess team performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, encouraging the team to innovate and remain agile in response to evolving project demands.Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues that could impact project timelines or quality, utilizing strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive and productive team environment.Excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, showing adaptability and resilience in the face of change.Must be able to multi-task, problem solve, learn quickly, and adapt to changing prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to effect change in a matrix-managed environmentExperience working in a highly collaborative environment that values speed and quality, with a strong desire to drive change and foster a positive work environment to achieve resultsDemonstrates a growth mindset by coaching the team and Product Owner on how to improve their practices to excel at scaleAbility to lead retrospectives, document outcomes, and guide team members in best practicesParticipates in organizational assessments of agile practices and takes ownership of resulting action items to advance the agile transformationEnsures Definition of Done (DOD) & Definition of Ready (DOR) are met consistentlyWhat You'll NeedEducation: Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline preferredCertified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification (Preferred).Experience: 7+ years' experience as a Scrum Master4+ years working on cross-functional teams to produce technology products requiredExcel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, showing adaptability and resilience in the face of change.2+ years' experience structuring teamwork in a fast-paced environment requiredExperience interpreting quantitative data to address business problemsScrum certification (Scrum Alliance or similar professional certification) preferredStrong understanding of Agile principles and practices.Expert experience in Tools Like Jira and LeankitTechnical Skills: Demonstrates a growth mindset by coaching the team and Product Owner on how to improve their practices to excel at scaleAbility to lead retrospectives, document outcomes, and guide team members in best practices.Experience in coordinating multiple teams and managing dependencies in a large-scale Agile environment.Strong understanding of Agile principles, Scrum, and Kanban frameworkStrong understanding of Agile principles and practices.Expert experience in Tools Like Jira and Leankit.What We OfferVelocity Risk provides equal opportunity to everyone, and we do not tolerate discrimination or harassment to anyone.We strive to ensure our employees have the best experience possible!
