Job Title: Functional Agile Scrum Master/JIRA Support Lead
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
The Functional Agile Scrum Master/JIRA Support Lead will support agile tasks and streamline JIRA-based reporting and coordination for functional workstream execution. The role involves overseeing user stories, managing sprints, removing blockers, and aligning with technical and QA teams to ensure configuration and testing success. This resource will also assist in transitioning the team from traditional waterfall methodologies to agile processes, providing guidance, training, and organizational support.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and coordinate JIRA reporting to create dashboards reflecting functional progress.
- Groom user stories to ensure clarity and alignment with requirements and testing needs.
- Collaborate with QA, technical teams, and stakeholders to track progress, resolve issues, and enhance sprint velocity.
- Support transformation from legacy processes to agile methodologies through training and guidance.
- Drive "mini-projects" ensuring complete definition, configuration, testing, and support.
- Report on sprint status, backlog grooming, and RAID item progress.
- Extensive experience as a JIRA expert, including configuration, reporting, and metrics.
- Certified Scrum Master with expertise in Agile methodologies, user story preparation, and sprint management.
- Proven project management experience in complex operational environments.
- Experience with SaaS solutions and CI/CD implementation.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills.
- 5+ years in Agile project management using JIRA.
- Experience in state government or large-scale transformation projects.
- Familiarity with financial, payroll, or HCM applications and cloud implementations.
Education:
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience in testing, project management, or change management.
