Job Summary : The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of an assisted living facility in Cumming, GA. The role involves ensuring the facility runs smoothly, providing excellent care to residents, managing staff, and driving business growth through sales and marketing initiatives. The Executive Director must ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while creating a positive environment for residents, staff, and the community.
Duties and Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assisted living facility, ensuring it runs efficiently and meets all quality and safety standards. Manage resident admissions, care services, and support programs to meet the diverse needs of older adults requiring assistance with daily activities like eating, bathing, and medication management. Supervise staff across various departments, including nursing, security, transportation, and housekeeping, ensuring optimal performance and service delivery. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and licensing requirements. Conduct routine inspections to ensure the facility adheres to established procedures and provides the residents with a safe and secure environment. Work closely with governing bodies and government agencies to maintain compliance with all regulations, and participate in inspections and surveys. Assist in developing and executing plans of correction for any deficiencies identified during inspections or audits.
Financial Management: Assist in the development and management of the facility's annual budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to achieve financial and operational goals. Monitor expenses and staffing levels, ensuring they align with revenue to maintain profitability. Collaborate with leadership to identify cost-saving measures and optimize resource utilization.
Personnel Management: Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and, when necessary, terminate facility staff to ensure high performance and resident satisfaction. Provide leadership and mentorship to the staff, fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and service. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including infection control, fire protection, and other safety protocols. Plan and conduct staff training, in-service classes, and orientation programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Resident Care and Quality of Life: Ensure all residents receive high-quality care in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment that enhances their quality of life. Maintain open communication with residents and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the care provided. Continuously monitor resident care and implement improvements as needed. Ensure all documentation and resident files meet regulatory requirements and are accurately maintained.
Public Relations and Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, the community, and other stakeholders. Represent the facility in public forums, community meetings, and with external agencies, advocating for the facility and its services. Develop and maintain good public relations that support the facility’s mission and enhance its reputation in the community.
Qualifications: College degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the assisted living or senior care industry. At least 5 years in a management role within the industry. Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certifications required. Strong knowledge of the assisted living and/or non-medical home care industry, particularly in the Atlanta area.
