Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs duties as an Electrician such as:
o Works on electrical systems primarily under 480 volts and under.
o Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs wiring systems, electric clocks, telephones, floodlights, and other electrical fixtures and equipment.
o Maintains emergency generators; should be able to read schematics and blueprints.
o Makes electrical inspections of electrical equipment.
o Uses standard tools such as volt meters, amp meters, watt meters, and related equipment to trouble shoot and isolate electrical problems.
o Installs and makes repairs on nonmetallic cables such as romex, conduits (greenfield), and thin wall or rigid conduit.
o Troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical motor starters, related switchgears, and controls.
o May provide support to ElectriciansHigh Voltage and work on high voltage systems when necessary.
•Provides guidance and assistance personnel in accomplishing larger electrical installation/maintenance assignments.
•Insures that sufficient and proper materials and tools are on hand to accomplish electrical work assignments.
•Completes electrical work orders and keeps records as assigned by Executive Director of Facilities and Planning.
•Oversees training of personnel in specific tasks required to complete electrical work orders and electrical assignments.
•Estimates time and material for electrical repair jobs per the direction and request from the Director of Facilities.
•Inspects and approves work of contracted employees per the direction and request from the Director of Facilities.
10% Basic Maintenance, Safety Awareness, and Administrative Duties
•School event setup electrical and special event setup electrical.
•Assist with HVAC electrical.
•Assist in moving electrical equipment on campus sites.
•Identify and adhere to all aspects of safety on job site and during equipment repair.
•Responsible for knowledge of safety data sheets for chemical usages and review of MSDS information.
•Adhere to all sections of site (SOWELA) Employee Acknowledgement Form.
•Act as point of contact under the direction of the Director of Facilities for outside customers and/or contractors as needed for electrical needs.
