The Research Informatics Operations (RIO) team is looking for an enthusiastic Business Analyst to coordinate and support the information system needs of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) research community. The Business Analyst I will join the Client Services Team, supporting Customer Experience Operations under the RIO umbrella. The mission of the Client Services Team is to support the operations of the research program at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, including but not limited to clinical trial management, grant development, intellectual property management, and biospecimen banking.
Incumbent will assist more experienced staff with projects, eventually leading their own projects, including design & implementation of new software systems to support research. Will utilize various vendor and in-house developed systems, including enterprise-wide systems, to meet the changing needs of the scientific and clinical research community. They will work with study teams and other stakeholders to meet clinical trial activation requirements, specimen collection requirements, and patient registration needs utilizing the clinical trial management, as well as biobanking systems. Incumbent will also support day-to-day usage of RIO applications and provide education on system workflows and functionality. The incumbent must be able to create and maintain healthy working relationships with end users, DF/HCC and site leadership.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide a high level of customer support to DF/HCC stakeholders, including study teams, clinicians, Office of Data Quality, Office for Human Research Studies, Mass General Brigham eCare and others by either resolving issues or facilitating connection with appropriate resources.
Build protocol treatment arms and calendars in the clinical trial management systems.
Gather, analyze, and assimilate documents required to build calendars, treatment arms.
Collaborate with study teams and clinical staff.
Identify obstacles encountered during the build process; communicate and develop acceptable resolutions to such obstacles.
Understand various software systems and the interdependencies between them to guide treatment arm and calendar creation.
Educate study team members on how subject enrollment, treatment arms, calendars work.
Assist with business requirements gathering, workflow analysis, definition, and documentation of system requirements for the many clinical research business processes involved for each of the DF/HCC institutions as they relate to the various clinical trial systems, biobanking and basic research systems.
Assist with the design and implementation of system and workflow solutions for clinical trials management, electronic data capture, and other systems supported by the Customer Experience Operations team.
Manage all aspects of the project: team communications, timelines, signoffs, scope changes, etc.
Adhere to recognized project management tools and methodologies.
Schedule and run meetings, report progress, track, and route issues.
Serve as an exemplary representative of RIO. On-going communication, feedback and follow-through with customers/peers are essential.
Learn and utilize new products and tools, as appropriate, to successfully complete work assignments.
Work closely with vendors and maintain a positive collaboration with the vendor.
Develop project and system documentation throughout the course of daily activities and projects.
Understand requirements involved in human subject’s research preferred.
Actively participate in and support team culture.
Utilize Dana-Farber Cancer Institute values to govern decisions, actions, and behaviors.
Perform other related duties as assigned and/or needed.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for resolution of patient care critical issues.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Concentration in Information Technology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Computer Science, Business, Basic Sciences or other relevant healthcare or life sciences field preferred.
Minimum Experience:
2+ years direct analytical experience in a customer facing role or experience in either clinical research, basic research, or administrative functions to support research. Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams of 5 or more indirect resources. Experience with successful implementation of enterprise applications a plus. Formal business analyst training and/or project management training a plus. Proficient in complete MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
