Through an equity-minded approach, the director will refine and expand CIE's five-pillar model of inclusive excellence, ensuring that CIE remains a valuable resource for students, faculty, and staff as well as external partners. Reporting to the Executive Director of Wellbeing, Empowerment, and Belonging, the director will lead strategic initiatives in the areas of research, education, and outreach through events, programming, and workshops that engage key audiences and build partnerships to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) across the Carlson School community.ResponsibilitiesResearch Facilitation (20%):
Partner with faculty champions to support research on DEIB topics, determine projects CIE can support, enhance cross-disciplinary collaborations, and develop documentation of DEIB best practices.Education (20%):
Develop learning opportunities for faculty, staff, and students on DEIB topics, enhance existing practices, and conduct needs assessments.Outreach and Community Engagement (20%):
Build relationships with communities and organizations, host conferences, develop events, and support DEIB efforts.Center Leadership, Management, and Fundraising (40%):
Set mission and goals for CIE, monitor effectiveness, manage funds, collaborate on communications, and secure funding.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:BA/BS degree in a relevant field.Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in DEIB.Experience with fundraising or grant writing.Strong understanding of inclusive excellence frameworks.Preferred Qualifications:Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field.Proven ability to plan and facilitate impactful events.Excellent communication skills.Knowledge of the organizational environment of higher education.Experience in community engagement.The University recognizes and values the importance of diversity and inclusion in enriching the employment experience of its employees and in supporting the academic mission.
