Job Description The Vertex Companies, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Industrial Hygiene team. VERTEX is a rapidly expanding, multi-national consulting firm that is experiencing exponential growth, and we’re looking to augment our team of talented individuals. This is an excellent opportunity to assemble a team of industrial hygiene professionals and lead our Industrial Hygiene/Building Science presence in the South Florida area. The individual we are looking for will enjoy the challenge of working on multiple projects on a fast-paced schedule, working with senior staff, and providing field oversight on a variety of industrial hygiene projects. Core Responsibilities Perform, oversee, and review industrial hygiene inspection/assessment projects for a variety of public and private clients. Conduct/direct field investigation activities, including Industrial Hygiene Evaluations, Asbestos, Lead Paint, Regulated and Hazardous Materials, Mold and Moisture Intrusion, Indoor Air Quality. Seek opportunities to expand client services with existing and new clients as part of ongoing business development. Supervise junior staff in coordinating asbestos and industrial hygiene projects. Collect indoor air quality and bulk asbestos samples. Develop, coordinate, and conduct oversight of abatement projects. Analyze laboratory and engineering data. Write reports for senior review. Schedule and coordinate subcontractor activities for projects. Manage projects within budget and on time. Prepare budgets and proposals for existing and new clients. Qualifications BS in Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Microbiology, or related environmental field. 7+ years of professional experience in the execution of asbestos surveys, asbestos air monitoring, and project management, regulated and hazardous materials, mold and moisture assessments, and Indoor Air Quality investigations. Proficiency in use of sampling equipment including but not limited to air quality meters, moisture meters, microscopes, pumps, calibration equipment, and thermography. Experience conducting traditional environmental consulting (i.e. Phase I Site Assessments and Property Condition Assessments) a plus. AHERA-accredited asbestos inspector and Project Designer required. CIH, CSP, Licensed Mold Assessor, and/or Licensed Asbestos Consultant preferred. Frequent travel and/or fieldwork (valid driver’s license required). Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities. Ability to perform exceptionally under fast-paced conditions. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe. Proficiency or working knowledge of CAD a plus. Walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain and outdoors. Carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites with regularity.
