Job Description
The Associate Director, Business Analyst, within Metrics, Analytics & Performance (MAP) will lead activities related to the development, delivery, & maintenance of a portfolio of metrics/analytics projects to support strategic decisions, improve planning/execution, and monitor performance across our portfolio, studies & processes within Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO).
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborates with stakeholders within team and GCTO to develop, implement and maintain dashboards and reports to measure operational performance.
Defines release training and communication strategy. Coordinates development and delivery of training and communication.
Leads the requirements, development, and delivery of dashboards/reports according to established plan.
Leads the analysis and interpretation of data to support the ability of internal customers to successfully carry out their business objectives (story telling/data literacy).
Develop and implement continuous improvement methodology in the way MAP delivers dashboards and reports. Continuously assess opportunities to improve, simplify and optimize the metrics platform for functional areas and trial/program teams.
Supports external benchmarking activities to monitor internal performance against industry peers. Research best business practices within and outside the organization to maintain benchmarking data.
Oversee the triage, assignment, and quality of ad-hoc report requests.
Lead teams to identify and mitigate project risks. Attend meetings to provide portfolio updates, trending, etc.
Participate in strategic initiatives.
Mentor junior staff in best practices related to metrics development, prioritization, and work direction. Foster a motivated staff base.
The role must demonstrate appropriate company Leadership Standards. Experienced with "getting things done" in a complex work environment is required.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably in Statistics, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biological Sciences, or health care related discipline.
Required Experience and Skills:
At least 8 years working on a clinical trial team or has worked in a clinical operations group in a cross-functional manner and understands the various steps in the lifecycle of a clinical study.
Knowledge of the Drug Discovery Process, ICH and GCP guidelines.
Strong understanding of how metrics can be used to drive strategic directives, clinical operations and/or process improvement initiatives.
