Overview:
The Project Director is responsible for directing, planning, and managing all requirements for Civil and Construction projects including change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial set-up, project financial updates, and project schedule to ensure projects are completed in a quality, profitable, safe, and timely manner. The Project Director will be responsible for fostering and growing client relations.
Location & Travel Details:
This is a long term project with onsite support required. We offer relocation assistance for this critical role to the beautiful area of Richmond, Virginia.

Responsibilities: Plans, organizes and staffs key field positions working with organizational/division leadership. Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. Sets and ensures execution of project goals and expectations. Initiates and maintains liaison with client, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate construction activities. Monitors/controls construction through administrative direction of on-site Project Manager, Project Engineer, Quality, Environmental, Traffic Controls, and Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget. Manages financial aspects of contracts to project Company’s interest while maintaining good relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Oversees and coordinates project activities as assigned. Maintains liaison with client, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure construction activities support project schedule and various client requirements. Represents Company at project meetings with client, subcontractors, vendors, etc. Coordinates project material deliveries and subcontractor needs as needed. Gives direction and guidance to resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and the like. Prepares and submits field design change requisitions and “as built” drawings, as required. Prepares and disseminates all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists, and material requirement calculations. Provides leadership, supervision, and/or technical direction to Project Managers, engineers, quality, safety, and/or superintendent assigned to area of work. Presents design discrepancies to engineer for resolution. Oversees and assists in scheduling service and maintenance on equipment at jobsite. Coordinates all safety-related specific activities as recommended by Corporate Safety Manager.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent related field of study. Knowledge of mass grading and earthwork, stream restoration and rehabilitation, stormwater management, erosion control, and utility infrastructure requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction estimating/scheduling software. Experience with job costing, scheduling, and estimating contract changes. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and safety rules. Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Working Conditions: Works in an office environment at the Corporate office or in the field. May be exposed to extreme temperatures and chemicals from jobsites. May be exposed to risks associated with working around heavy machines, tools, and trucks.
