Purpose of the Role: The Director of Procurement Contracts at Worley leads complex contractual undertakings that drive strategic success for our organization and our clients. This role is instrumental in shaping Worley’s commitment to delivering sustainable change by ensuring that contractual agreements are aligned with the company’s long-term vision and operational goals. Acting as a subject matter expert in procurement and contract management, the Director collaborates across functions to implement strategies that support project execution, drive compliance, and safeguard client interests in all contractual engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management Leadership:

Oversee the entire lifecycle of contract management, from negotiation and establishment of terms to post-award contract administration, on Large/Mega projects, ensuring the seamless integration of client needs and Worley’s sustainability goals.

Strategic Procurement Support:

Identify, select, and collaborate with reliable contractors to provide specialized and construction services that align with Worley’s project objectives. Negotiate terms that fulfill both Worley’s and client requirements.

Compliance & Risk Mitigation:

Develop robust claims defense strategies and engage Legal resources as required to protect client rights and address any potential contractual risks. Work closely with internal and client representatives to maintain transparent, effective contract administration.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

Monitor contractor performance and ensure service delivery meets both contractual obligations and project objectives. Provide essential approvals and documentation to support timely payment of invoices, contributing to overall project efficiency.

Policy Development & Oversight:

Establish objectives, policies, and procedures that reflect Worley’s broader sustainability commitments, ensuring compliance and alignment with company standards and client expectations.

Leadership & Team Collaboration:

Operate as a cross-functional leader who fosters collaboration across departments and locations to achieve organizational goals. Lead, mentor, and develop team members, ensuring best practices in contract management are upheld.

Qualifications / Skill Set:

Educational Background:

A university degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or law, or an equivalent level of relevant experience in contract management or procurement.

Experience:

A track record of relevant experience in procurement and contract management, with significant leadership experience in a strategic role. Proven ability to oversee complex contracts, including post-award administration and dispute resolution.

Technical & Analytical Expertise:

Advanced knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and risk management. Skilled in developing claims defense strategies and aligning contract terms with both organizational goals and client interests.

Strategic Decision-Making & Problem Solving:

Ability to make independent decisions that influence long-range planning, ensuring alignment with Worley’s sustainability vision. Skilled at managing multiple complex projects and providing guidance that impacts regional or project-wide objectives.

Communication & Influence:

Strong ability to communicate complex proposals and contract terms effectively to senior leadership and clients. Collaborative approach with excellent negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.

Systems & Process Proficiency:

Expert in the use of relevant systems, processes, and tools for contract management, with the ability to train and support others. Knowledgeable in developing new processes to enhance project delivery and compliance with company standards.
