CrossRoads Church at Westfield Westfield, Indiana, United States

You are invited to join with and lead a very active, energetic, and Jesus-focused group of people who are impacting daily the lives of our local neighbors with a desire to make Jesus real to them. With over 80% of our congregation actively involved in our ministries, we are blessed to be a strategic and valued part of our community by ministry recipients, other local churches, the local school administration, and by the leadership of our city. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a servant's heart, driven by a deep-rooted passion for serving others and expanding the reach of the congregation to better assist the surrounding community. This leader will have the ability to cultivate an environment where each member of the congregation feels empowered to use their unique gifts and talents to further the church's purpose of being a beacon of hope and compassion in the neighborhood. This candidate will also have the ability to be a teacher of all ages who will speak the truth of Jesus to those who need guidance. We are looking for a leader in the city council or advisors to our city elected officials to gain support and awareness of needs in the community to fulfill our missions intact. We also look for someone who will grow our congregation to serve more of our neighbors better. Although we live in an affluent city, poverty is all around us and many do not show signs of struggle. Our ideal candidate will be someone who doesn't run from conflict within our congregation and doesn't micromanage all serving but trusts the volunteers to lead the mission with a passion for Christ. In order to strengthen and grow the ministries of For Our Neighbor and the spiritual life of CrossRoads, our pastor will lead and serve with other leaders/elders in the edification and guidance of the wise use of the people and material resources entrusted to us. He/she will have the keen ability to balance being the leader of the congregation with the humility to be led by Jesus alone. We desire someone who is passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus with those in our community who do not know Jesus and in training and encouraging our congregation to do the same. This pastor will have the skills, desire, and call to be the next Head of Staff/Lead Pastor of CrossRoads following a time of transition with the current pastor. Tasks, expectations, duties, and responsibilities for the position: Worship leader to shape the structure of the service and lead weekly worship. Scholar who regularly studies the Word and seeks opportunities to expand his/her understanding. Teacher who articulately shares his/her understanding of Jesus in a way that is absorbable by all walks of life and age ranges. Nurturing person who provides support and counsel for CrossRoads attendees and others in the community who have problems, are experiencing loss, or are in a difficult situation. Humility to be open to learning and contributing to a team-based environment. Administrator who serves as Head of Staff and coordinates the smooth running of organizational structures, including the coordination of all committees and elder team, implementation of programs, and oversight of finances. Community leader who acts as CrossRoads' main liaison to the local community through groups like the Chamber of Commerce, Fire Merit Board, Point Theatre, and other local organizations. Direction from Lead Pastor and reports to Elders. Our church is a place where all are invited in to discover who God is and the purpose He has for all of us in His story. We think church should be one of the most engaging and exciting places on the planet—a place where people of any and all backgrounds can experience a God who is real and relevant in their lives today. And that's exactly what we want to help you do!
