We are seeking a passionate and experienced IT Business Analyst with a strong background in Healthcare IT to drive innovative solutions in a dynamic environment. In this pivotal role, you will act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring healthcare IT systems align with organizational goals, regulatory standards, and requirements.
As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering business requirements, designing and implementing technical solutions, and integrating healthcare IT systems. Additionally, you will play a key role in customer-facing applications, including the Community Health Record and Personal Health Record, by outlining product enhancements, addressing support issues, and collaborating with development partners to advance roadmaps and system capabilities for future functionality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, clinicians, and IT teams to gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Lead and manage the integration of healthcare IT systems, ensuring interoperability and compliance with standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
- Work with software developers, data administrators, and system architects to implement and test technical solutions.
- Analyze current healthcare processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and document new processes to enhance efficiency and healthcare delivery quality.
- Perform data analysis to support decision-making, including creating dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of healthcare data in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources using methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Facilitate project meetings, including status updates, requirement reviews, and post-implementation evaluations.
- Act as a liaison between business units and IT to ensure clear communication and project goal alignment.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system designs, user manuals, process flows, and technical specifications.
Other Duties
- Mentor team members and healthcare community stakeholders to support services and initiatives.
- Apply industry best practices related to security and data protection.
- Complete required training within designated timeframes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- ITIL Foundations certification or willingness to become certified within the first year of employment.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proven experience implementing and integrating healthcare IT systems such as EHRs, LIS, RIS, or other clinical applications.
- Strong understanding of healthcare standards and protocols (e.g., HL7, FHIR, C-CDA, HIE).
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis.
- Experience with system integration and software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
