The Role In this role, you will join a rapidly expanding organization in the biotech industry. You will make an immediate impact on our Global Supply Chain team by developing the SC Excellence strategy and road map, aligning with enterprise executive business leaders, managing Moderna’s supply chain programs to enable a best-in-class supply chain and supporting the work of the Executive Programme Team under the governance of the People Process Technology Operating Committee (PTOC). You will be accountable for defining the approach to Agile project management, ensuring program alignment with Enterprise strategies, clarifying problem statements, defining systems, processes, and organization, and implementing effective change management to enable transformation. Your role will ensure sustainment, improve performance, drive compliance, and capture value. To be successful, the individual combines supply chain expertise with strong communication skills and works collaboratively in a highly cross-functional environment. You will quickly build relationships and influence across the Moderna ecosystem to drive competitive advantage, cost-effectiveness, and robustness of Commercial and Clinical Supply Chain processes. Moreover, you will be a proven leader with experience in change management and managing global, cross-functional teams of different disciplines. The position provides an opportunity to operate in a highly collaborative role with both external and internal partners. Here’s What You’ll Do Leadership in Supply Chain Program Governance: Establish a robust governance framework for managing supply chain programs aligned with organizational goals.
Drive the development and alignment of the Supply Chain Operating Model with business and digital priorities.
Strategic Development: Develop and execute a global supply chain strategy that supports enterprise business strategies.
Run the Supply Chain Architecture Council to prioritise and align the programme with business leaders and the Digital/IT community. Own the capital Projects spend for SC.
Manage cross-functional collaboration, ensuring integration with other business functions (e.g., Manufacturing, Quality).
Project and Program Management: Oversee the execution of supply chain programs using Agile methodology.
Ensure all projects are properly chartered with clear objectives, deliverables, and resource alignment.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives that foster innovation and continuous improvement across global supply chain processes.
Change Management and Performance Optimization: Implement effective change management practices to sustain improvements, drive compliance, and capture value.
Ensure performance metrics are met, and governance mechanisms are in place for tracking progress and decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration and Influence: Act as a strategic business partner, liaising with senior management and key stakeholders across different functions to ensure alignment.
Executive Engagement and Alignment: Drive executive engagement through the People Process Technology Operating Committee (PTOC), ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and initiatives.
Financial Acumen and Accountability: Manage project financials, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI, and ensuring rigorous financial reporting.
Global Team Management: Lead global, cross-functional teams, ensuring the delivery of key supply chain initiatives and transformation goals.
Performance, Progress, and Financial Metrics Reporting: Create and report comprehensive performance metrics, progress tracking, and financial performance for the entire strategic program, ensuring transparency and accountability across all initiatives.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications) Education: University degree in Supply Chain technology, engineering, management/business administration, or a related field.
10-15 years in various supply chain functions or roles of similar complexity.
This role is based in our new LEED-certified HQ in Cambridge, MA and is expected to be in office 70% of the time with flexibility to work from home up to 30%.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications) Excellence in project management, PMP certification a plus. Agile practitioner and ideally Agile Coaching experience, experienced in KATA methodology and ideally a KATA coach.
Lean/ Six Sigma practitioner. Ideally Black Belt accredited.
Financial acumen and project financial management experience. Including good understanding of NVP calculation, cash flow, working capital, P&L management, investment prioritization and ROI calculation & monitoring. Ensure rigorous financial reporting and accountability across all projects and deliverables through the SC Product Leads.
Exceptional understanding of the pharma industry and supply chain needs strongly preferred (biotech experience a plus).
Advanced understanding of cGxP’s.
Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate with senior management in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment – you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships daily.
Well-organized – a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate, and conduct your work.
