The successful candidate utilizes data to solve key business problems within the Customer Data Delivery team. There is a major drive to migrate our on-premise databases to cloud architecture; our team works closely with business leaders to understand customer data initiatives, and collaborates with IT delivery teams to prioritize workload to meet business needs. The candidate will spend much of his/her time exploring customer databases (both on-prem and cloud-based), then translate data insights to delivery teams. The ideal candidate for this role is analytically-minded, self-motivated, and an excellent communicator.

The successful candidate will have the following skillset:
Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, and experience developing queries on large datasets
Strong communication skills
Strong exploratory analysis skills
Exemplary problem solving, decision making and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to lead efforts across multiple business groups
Experience with product testing and usability testing
Success in project management or process improvement
Experience in writing effective test cases/scripts and maintain a traceability matrix
Experience developing, optimizing, and/or maintaining data visualizations (e.g., Power BI/Tableau)
Responsibilities
Work across departments on data strategies that improve business processes
Working independently with minimal supervision
Translate business initiatives into requisite data engineering tasks
Authoring functional report designs, test scenarios and test cases for Analytics & Reporting
Ensuring alignment between business stakeholders and development team
Explore new datasets for anomalies that may inform data engineering methods used to migrate dataset
Capturing source/target dataset metadata
Build and manage Technical documents like ETL Mapping and Data Dictionaries.
Leverage APIs directly to access and extract data from external sources
Collaborate with development teams to integrate API data into existing systems
Perform data validations to confirm data migration successful
Documenting data quality test results
Documenting and communicating the results of your efforts
Assist with creating training documentation and job-aids
Sharing findings with team members and leadership in a regular cadence
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience using cloud data warehouses (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery)
Previous experience using stream processing platforms (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, AWS Kinesis)
Previous experience using an object-oriented programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, CSS)
Previous experience using statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, sci-py)
